We aim to provide a pleasant environment for everyone visiting Gabba Dermatology. When you visit please don't wear perfumes or fragrances as they may irritate other patients' skin conditions.
If you are unwell with a cough, cold, temperature or gastral intestinal issue please do not come in. Phone Gabba Dermatology reception (07 3039 1300) as soon as possible and every effort will be made to schedule an appointment for you the following week.

Q. How long does it take to get an appointment?
A. Appointment waiting times for a standard consultation at Gabba Dermatology vary from doctor to doctor. We endeavour to schedule patient appointments as soon as possible. For urgent medical issues your GP is encouraged to contact Gabba Dermatology on 07 3039 1300 and the administration team will assist where possible.

Q. What are your usual waiting times?
A. At Gabba dermatology we endeavour to address all patient concerns ln the day which may result in unexpected waiting times. Reception will try to keep you informed if our doctors are running late but please contact the clinic prior to leaving home if you are concerned.

Q. What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
A. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require 24 hours' notice. If you don't provide 24 hours' notice you may be charged a cancellation fee up to and including the full amount of the consultation.
Q. Is there a waiting list for surgery?
A. Waiting times for surgery vary from doctor to doctor but in most cases, surgery can be booked within a few weeks. Special arrangements will be made for surgery that is considered urgent.
Q. Do I need a referral?
A. Yes. A current referral for the day of the appointment is required to enable you to claim the maximum Medicare rebate for services provided at Gabba Dermatology.
Q. What is the payment policy at Gabba Dermatology?
A. Consultation and treatment fees are required to be paid on the day the service is provided. Please note, if paying by credit card, merchant fees will apply for Visa, Master Card and Amex.
Q. Do you have a patient car park?
A. Gabba Dermatology provides subsidised parking on Level 1, 250 Ipswich Road in the PA Parking building.
Entry to the car park is via Wolseley St. PA Parking has 900 undercover car parks. Gabba Dermatology allocated parking is on Level 1. If Gabba Dermatology parking is full continue to other carpark levels and use the next available park (please note these could be on level 6 or 7).
To take advantage of Gabba Dermatology subsidised parking you must get a ticket as you enter the car park and an additional ticket from reception. Before exiting the car park go to the Level 2 pay-station and insert firstly the PA Parking ticket and then the Gabba Dermatology ticket and pay the required amount.
Q. Is my treatment covered by Medicare?
A. Gabba Dermatology is not a bulk billing practice. If you are a Medicare cardholder, you may be able to claim for part of the cost of your consultation and treatment. Reception can provide you with information about rebates at the time of your visit.
Q. Will you be able to process my claim through Medicare?
A. Yes. On the day of your appointment, you are required to pay your account in full and if requested reception can process your Medicare rebate.

Q. Is my treatment covered by private health insurance?
A. If your treatment is provided as an in-patient at a hospital or registered day surgery your private health insurance may cover part of the medical fees. It may also cover part of the costs incurred for specific non PBS/private medications, dressings or private treatments. Your private health insurance does not cover the cost of consultations or treatment provided as an out-patient at Gabba Dermatology.
Q. Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Because of the nature of most skin disorders in person appointments are required. However, if live outside of south-east Queensland or have significant health issues the use of telehealth can be considered. Contact reception to see if you qualify for a this service.
Q. How accessible is your clinic?
A. Our clinic is certified by an occupational therapist to cater for all patients. We have disabled and ambulant washroom facilities and wide access consultation and procedure rooms.
